Mindfulness Meditations

Practising focusing attention, exercising our muscles of awareness and connecting, significantly increases our wellbeing. This is being human, and being mindful is a natural state, however, it isn’t always easy. This is why a course, is proven to be the most effective way of receiving the benefits of mindfulness practice.

Positively Mindful offers the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction programme as an online course and also an Introduction to Mindfulness courses at various locations in the UK. If you are interested in participating or have any suggestions or comments please do get in contact.

"The present moment is the only moment available to us and is the door to all moments."

- Thích Nhất Hạnh -

To start you on your journey of awareness, Positively Mindful has created some unique guided meditations, we invite you to listen and be with whatever arises, as best you can. Cultivating compassion for ourselves is paramount for any meditation practice, so if you find things difficult, move towards being kind to yourself, and notice how that unfolds.

Mindfulness is about non-striving, so there is no right or wrong way to do the practices. You are cultivating attitudes of non-judgement, acceptance, trust, letting go, beginner’s mind and patience and these take time to develop. Listen and notice your reactions, observe how you feel, your thoughts, sensations and emotions and keep practising.

“Freedom is not given to us by anyone; we have to cultivate it ourselves. It is a daily practice.”

- Thích Nhất Hạnh -

"I’ve been going through some bad stuff but the sessions and home practice have definitely helped so I feel like I'm emerging from my depression.”

Designed to help you deeply relax and feel rejuvenated. Position yourself lying down, with a blanket and pillow and follow the body scan and visualisations of the lymphatic system. HIV is present in our blood, but it is more active in our lymphatic system. We have more lymph fluid circulating around our bodies than blood. From the glands (lymph nodes) in our neck to the tips of our toes, this meditation focuses attention on our bodies and the trillions of cells that are supporting our health. We become aware of our breath and as we breathe deeply we increase oxygen to our cells allowing our bodies to work effectively, efficiently and with ease.
